This is about divine partnership. When you were called, you heard the voice of God.
When we come to Christ, we give ourselves to him. We give our lives to him, our loyalty to him. We give our minds to him, and our thoughts to the study of him. We give our hearts our affections to him. We give our will to him; we will do what he commands. At the same time, he gives himself to us. We receive something of the energy and life of God, a divine spark, as it were. It is now everything to us and it enriches us. We give ourselves to him, and he gives himself to us. The beginning of it when Christ gave himself to us on Calvary's cross, to be our scapegoats, our Redeemer.
You know if he has given himself to you, because something of the life of God is in you. You suddenly find you love him; the love of God is shed abroad in your heart. Where did that love come from? You never loved him before. It is God imparting something of himself to you, so that you can love spiritual things, and love Christ, and the Father, and the people of God. You find that you have become an outgoing person. Now you want to do good; you want others to come to the Lord. If you have the opportunity you are going to witness to them and pray for them. You are not so much concerned about yourself and your comforts and wealth and position in this world; you think more of others; you want to come to the prayer meeting. Where did that come from? That was something of God that was imparted to you. This is the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ.
