1 Corinthians 11:10 Commentary and Bible Study

The angels are wonderful creatures, and it will be different in the heavenly glory, but at the moment they are far more powerful than we are, and far more glorious. Of course, they are holy angels, and we are not holy people, so they are greater than us. But they serve us; they are unseen servants, working under the direction of God to assist God's people, mysteriously and wonderfully. Their role is to be secondary to us. Think of that: more wonderful than we are at the moment – not in the eternal glory – and yet subservient to us. They are not working to our direction, because they work under God's direction, but nevertheless they are serving us. So here is a case where superiority is called to do an assisting job. The angels would therefore be shocked if they looked at the church in Corinth, and see a lady who has refused to wear the symbol of being number two, because they are number two, and willingly so.
