Then the theological explanation is given. He says ‘shall all be made alive’ – given resurrection bodies – but it clearly means all believers, not literally all, because it goes on to say, ‘but every man in his own order, Christ, the firstfruits afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
We must always read the Scriptures carefully. This is not a totally universal statement. It is in the first half: in Adam all will die; your body will die. Your soul, of course, will go on into the prison house of the lost if you have never come to Christ, but your body will die. But if you are in Christ, you are included in the all who will be made alive; you are given to him in the covenant of grace.
