‘Ye are bought’ – it is past tense in the Greek; it has already occurred. Christ has come and he has purchased souls; he has redeemed us.
I need to be careful where I go, what I watch, how I behave, not being given to appetites, but disciplined, applying myself. Am I a productive person in the body, in all spheres of life? Am I helpful? Am I burden bearer? Can I be described as somebody who has industry and honesty in life? I am to glorify God in my body. People are watching. I am to honour the fact that the Holy Spirit is within. I am not to offend him or to grieve him. I am to be courteous and considerate in my behaviour, in all things. I am to witness. Keep the mind pure. Watch the daydreams. Are they selfish, ambitious, conceited, with number one at the centre of all things? Study good things, the things of God. Plan good things, think good things. Divert bad thoughts; get away from them, over-gloomy thoughts. Pray without ceasing. Cherish your devotions.
