Human love is not worthy to be compared with God’s love, even that of converted men and women. The love of believers is good but it is no more than a response to what God has done first.
The believer knows that all that he is results from God’s work within him, and he can claim no credit for his response of love to God. Nevertheless he desires to love God with all his heart
God’s love consults none outside of itself. It makes choices, but these choices do not originate in the objects of his love, but in his infinite wisdom and perfect knowledge of all things.
