Persecution also brings out very clearly the wilfulness of unbelief, its wilfulness and the necessity of it being judged. That also urges us to see the importance of the task of winning people.
If there are those who have never personally come to Jesus Christ, you will have to give an account to God, because he gave you your life! He set rules by which it must be lived and you have flouted them. He has given warning to every living person, a warning in the conscience, a warning in the built-in intuition and awareness, that there is a Creator God. We know we have to give account. He has this great wrath and indignation and we insult him and spurn him day by day.
