‘And Saul also went home to Gibeah; and there went with him a band of men, whose hearts God had touched.’ This is mysterious.
That makes the point to us that, in our lives, we often get encouragements, and everybody's got a gift that God has given them to take part in the work of God, at some level. Whether it’s teaching or encouraging others, or doing good works and assisting people who need assistance. All kinds of things: cheering people. Everyone has gifts, and you know it, and you're encouraged by it. God has equipped you for something, but maybe you never bother to find out what it is. You have never exercised it; you have never taken it seriously. What a shame! That's the conduct of Saul: to get a special provision and ignore it, and make nothing of it.
