Then comes a prophet, as it were, out of nowhere, a nameless prophet, and condemns Eli and brings a word to Eli saying, it's too late. Eli has neglected his privileges and he hasn't reproved his sons, and therefore it's too late, and they going to be severely judged.
Oh that we would heed these things today. It is serious when people meddle with worship. Sometimes you hear it from the huge televangelists in the United States and now it's happening here: that some of these big men over recent years or last twenty, thirty years have committed adultery. They are deposed for just a short while, and then they are back and functioning, and thousands, tens of thousands of Christian people send them money, and are glad that they are resuming again. People who have committed adultery and grievously sinned are heard to say, ‘Now that I have the experience of a fall and repentance, I am much more qualified to be a preacher.’ It’s a scandal. It’s astonishing.
