We must value the New Testament pattern church, and see lessons for us in all these events of the Old Testament. These things are for our learning, teaching us principles, giving us insights precious warnings and precious promises, and, whatever we do, let us not allow our faith to fail. We live by faith in God, prayer to him, never substituting earthly methods for prayer, and all this kind of thing. That is the message of these chapters. Do not be like the Israelites and let go of faith and allow any form of idolatry in.
