The apostle needed prayer. It is often observed that Christ never asked for prayer. Of course not: he was God. He prayed as man for himself and for others. But we have this responsibility to pray for all who preach, who handle the word of God, for all leaders.
Application
How selfish we can be in prayer. The first thing we need to learn is to be unselfish in prayer, to intercede for others. The ore unselfish you are, the more your needs are answered.
