The same can be said about good works. Some good works are pretty obvious.
When we go before God as ransom souls in that last day, the final day of judgment when the books are entirely opened, we go, thanks be to God – if we are saved by his precious blood – to the judgment of absolution to have the final declaration of God's interest in us that our souls and bodies are eternally with him, whereas the lost go to the judgment of damnation. But nevertheless, glorious as it is when we die to go to be with Christ in paradise and even more glorious to hear that great declaration of absolution on the final day because we are in Christ, yet a day is coming when you must see the books opened and the record of your life and the secret sins will catch up with you and be exposed to all. Even though by God's wonderful love and grace you will be instantly caught up on the side of the redeemed, there is a day of judgment, and all things will be laid bare, and there is an extent to which God is judging us even now. He is rewarding the righteous among his people, and he is chastising those who go along the pathway of faith towing a great lumber of secret sins. So let us be altogether for the Lord, completely, dedicated and given to him.
