Paul begins to explain his reasons for putting off an intended visit to Corinth. He has explained it before in some measure, but now he enlarges upon this here and in 1 Corinthians 2. Well, it would be a great shame. ‘I determined this with myself that I would not come to you in heaviness.’ It would be a great shame to have to come to you and only reprove this and reprove that.
