‘He that glorieth,’ – boasts, takes credit for anything, desires something very strongly – ‘let him glory in the Lord.’ The apostle said exactly the same thing in 1 Corinthians and chapter 1 and verse13.
Do you have ambition? Do you have a great desire? Are you inclined to take the credit for something? ‘He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.’ That is what Christianity is about. It is God and his glory. Does the church increase? Is the church full? Whose doing is that? It is the Lord’s. We offend him if we think otherwise. If somebody is saved, who did that? Do we want to take the credit for the witness, or for the help, or even for the sermon? No, it is the Lord who does it. You see those television shows from so-called Christians on the god-channels. Who is getting the glory? The performer, the one who is applauded. When you or I are tempted to take the credit, glory in the Lord, give him all the glory and the praise.
