2 Corinthians 2:15 Commentary and Bible Study

As the wonderful word of Christ is proclaimed and the point is made that Christ has come from heaven, suffered and died on Calvary to bear the punishment of sinners, and they are called to him to trust in him for the forgiveness of sin and receive eternal life; as this glorious word is going out, to some people it is offensive, it is unpleasant, it is unwanted. Why, it calls them to submit to Christ! They are not going to submit to anyone! It talks about sin and they will not accept that they are sinners. It talks about heaven; it talks about living in tune with the will of God and under the authority of his word and that makes them shudder.
