One of the most asked questions to pastors is: ‘Must we all go through the judgement and be exposed? Will believers be there? Will their sins also be out in the open?’ This is a very significant question. Well, there is no doubt that all will appear at the last judgement, and we could turn to other passages also to prove this (Hebrews 4:13).
Somebody may say,’ I have done some terrible things in my life. Even as a Christian I have fallen and I have been backslidden and I have done things of which I am ashamed. Is it all going to be paraded in the Day of Judgement? Am I going to shrivel up into nothing as everyone looks upon what I did?’ Well, let me put it in this way: when you or I go before Christ and we have to endure that moment when we see the whole of our lives, the good and the bad, first of all it will be for a purpose. It will be so that we understand and we know as we go into eternity how much we owe to him. I will momentarily see all the dross, all the failure, all the unfaithfulness, all the bad. Will it crush me? No, it will not crush me because I shall be seeing it in the context of how much Christ has done for me. I shall see not only what he had to bear away on Calvary before I was converted, but also after I was converted. But will everyone see? Well you know, when I stand in judgement, and I see all my life and all the wrong, and I see with amazing gratitude all that Christ has paid for me, I shall be so overwhelmed that I shall not notice anyone else.
