2 Corinthians 5:12

For we are not just commending ourselves but we are telling you what we are about, we give you occasion to glory in our behalf. You can defend yourselves against these people who are attacking us and you can tell them, all we are concerned about is preaching the gospel. They are concerned about appearances, ceremonial; we are concerned about changed hearts. So the apostle certainly mentions this problem but only in passing.
