2 Corinthians 6:12 Commentary and Bible Study

‘Ye are not straitened in us’ – the word straitened means narrowed, the old-fashioned term. You are not narrowed in us, in other words, ‘Our feelings towards you are not narrowed, constricted, restrained in any way’, but you are narrowed in your hearts towards us. It sounds an odd way of expressing it to our modern use of language. We have not become constricted in our emotions, our affection for you, but you have become restricted towards us, the apostles and the preachers who brought you the gospel, who helped you. You were so pleased at one time, but then you grew cold.
