2 Corinthians 7:14 Commentary and Bible Study

Paul is very personal here and opens his heart to the Corinthian Christians. How much good will he had for the churches, especially those he had brought the gospel to! He wanted to be able to speak well of them and to talk to others of the wonderful things God was doing for them, and wherever he could he spoke warmly about the churches in the hope that he would not be disappointed. He dared to boast about their progress and their deepening maturity and commitment to the gospel, but he this must prove itself to be a reality. He had spoken of the Corinthians to Titus before sending Titus to them and now he rejoiced that Titus had come back saying that all that Paul had reported so positively about them was true. We must always desire the best for fellow Christians and love to hear of progress that others have made. This charity is part and parcel of the new nature and is free from all jealousy and narrowness.
