Giving is a heart matter, purposeful matter.. How much, how has he prospered me? Do I really need to spend so much money on this or that? The mind should be fixed on our calling. Some when asked to do a job do it cheerfully, others do it grudgingly. So it is with giving. They are cheerful because they are so much behind the cause, and because faith sees the benefit that will come from it. Does the Lord love your giving, or is it something you don’t see as securing a great result? God will care for you and make all grace abound. You will have all sufficiency – enough – in all things in every department of your life. God will give so many favours, undeserved blessings. Strength for trials, words of witness, if we don’t play the hypocrite in stewardship. What great loss is ours if we are stingy, playing fast and loose with the Lord.
