He will have everlasting fruit, compared to things which the crumble away. The quotation is from Psalm 112.9: ‘He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever’, which probably means, you will not be forgotten, and nor will your benevolence ever fade. Once you start practising it, it will be natural to you, and God will help you.
