2 Thessalonians 2:5

You know, he tells them what holds back the man of sin from emerging: the climax, the last stage. The picture is of Satan’s straining forward to put into effect his plan to bring the man of sin into the world. Paul had told them what held him back; he does not tell us. Why were the Thessalonians able to know something – who holds back the man of sin – that we are not told? The answer is we do not need to be told, it is so obvious. Only God holds back the man of sin.
