The presidents and princes realise that they cannot find any occasion against Daniel except in the practice of his faith. They have one thing in common: they hated the Jews among them, men such as Daniel and three others named in this Book of Daniel in the narrative passages.
So there was great hostility and there was envy, but it is the old story. There is hostility against the true faithful people of God, and it is stirred up by the devil, and sometimes the persecutors know not why they have such hatred and hostility. They are easily manipulated by the enemy of souls.
