Galatians 3:9

Paul singles out the most significant aspect of Abraham’s life: he was faithful in the sense that he was full of faith towards God. But if this is how he obtained blessing, then the nations who are promised blessing in him must obtain it in the same way, for there is no other condition attached to the blessing. It is not by keeping the law or by natural descent but by faith alone. The blessing spoken of here is an eternal blessing, not just a temporal one. It is a blessing which can be obtained by those from any nation, including the Galatians. Without this foundational covenant, no one could be blessed. Unless the Gentiles had been included in the terms of this original covenant between God and Abraham, there would be no hope for them, for God cannot afterwards change the terms of the covenant.
Application
We thank God that he is the all-knowing, all-wise God who considered all things and planned for the salvation of his elect from all eternity, so that none of the terms of the promise to Abraham need to change. Let the Gentiles therefore come with great concern to see what is written of them and to their joy and relief they will find there was room for them from the beginning. But let them come in faith, for there are no other terms that can allow them to be included.
