Sarah is the only woman in the Bible with the age of her death recorded. The longevity of the human race was still in evidence at this time, though falling to levels which more closely resemble life spans today.
Often there is regret in bereavement. There is grief and thanks and sad regret also. Maybe we realise we did not always appreciate our spouse, or we have hurt or wounded them, or not helped them enough. You don’t want come to the point where sorrow has a painful side. Don’t deny happiness to your spouse, or take away their dignity, then at least bereavement will be a holy sorrow.
