Abraham treated this hint at the value of the field as a clearly stated amount and did not haggle further over the amount even though it was high. It would have been unseemly to do so in the circumstances, needing a burial place for Sarah, nor did he resent the high price since he knew that as the friend of God, he could not be effectively taken advantage of.
