Genesis 24:1

Isaac was 40 years old at the time of his marriage (Genesis 25:20) and Abraham is therefore about 140, and these events must have taken place roughly 3 years after Isaac’s mother Sarah died. Abraham had been blessed by God in all things says Moses. He had been blessed with advanced years, with prosperity, with security and the respect of those who lived around him in the land of Canaan. He had been protected in all his wanderings and provided for in times of famine and trial. He had been blessed with a son in his old age according to the promise of God, and he had been given back that son, as though from the dead, on Mount Moriah. He had been given remarkable promises that a nation would come through his descendants, and even promised that blessing would come to all the nations of the earth through him. He had been justified by God through faith and God had made a covenant with him, the covenant of circumcision. He had worshipped God and been called the friend of God, God sharing with him what he was about to do to the cities of the plain, so that Abraham was able to intercede for Lot and so see him delivered from Sodom.
