Genesis 24:16

Rebekah was remarkable for her beauty, but she had not become haughty or allowed it to go to her head. She did not regard this act of service as beneath her. Beauty demands a high price in the world, but Rebekah had not only an outward beauty, given her by God, but an inner beauty of soul.
Application
We are held far more responsible for the latter, having very little control over the former. Outward beauty is not something to be despised and those who are given it should thank God for it. But it is passing away and even before the end of life it begins to fade, while the inward person of the Christian is renewed day by day.
Rebekah was a virgin. She had kept herself in purity and mastered her own desires. How highly is that spirit to be valued in a woman that makes her want to keep herself pure for the husband of God’s choice. She will be his alone and all that she has to give will be saved for him.
