Man would far rather sew fig leaves together to cover himself, than repent of his sin. And that has been the way ever since. What a mirror this is of man in every age. We would rather cover up with lies and concealment than acknowledge our sin, even to God, and it started there in the Garden of Eden. It is quite impossible that fallen human beings can have fellowship with God and in his present state man shrinks from any true contact with the living God. There can be no honest dealings between God and man while human beings continue to try to cover over that and sin.
