Now they journeyed and this could well have been a flight for their lives, but the Lord protected them in a very remarkable way. Again this was grace and a mark of God’s favour to Jacob’s family in spite of their unworthiness.
We live by the strength that God gives us day by day, but we rejoice in those special powerful interventions of God in our lives. We remember them because we want to draw close to the Lord. Deliverances from great trials and dangers are an especial cause of thanks to God, for he helped us when no one else could help us, therefore he will be our refuge in all future trials.
