Genesis 9:18 Commentary and Bible Study

We are told that Ham is the father of Canaan because of what is going to happen next. Noah and his three sons leave the ark. It is almost as if Noah is another Adam. Everything is going to be channelled through them. We say, we have all come from Adam, but we may equally say, we have all come from Noah. From him will come the godly line and the ungodly line, which for the moment has gone out of sight but is about to re-emerge. Genesis 3.15 speaks the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent, the godly and the ungodly lines. The ungodly will constantly attack the godly. So you have Cain and Abel.
