Now these are such important words in this prophecy. There was temple after temple in the Old Testament period.
One day we shall enter eternal glory; there will be no more sin, no more rebellion. All the wonders of eternity will be available to us. We receive this now; it is as good as if we were already in heaven. Let us have grace, and serve God in a way that pleases him.
When some hear this teaching they say, ‘That is replacement theology. You teach that the Jews are nothing and all promises are now fulfilled in the Gentile church, so Gentiles replaced Jews.’ No, we do not teach that, but we say that all the promises made to the Jews includes Gentile believers, and so the promises are made to elect Jews and elect Gentiles - not replacement but fulfilment. ‘Oh, but it is almost replacement,’ they say, ‘because not many Jews are saved.’ Actually there are many Jews in the kingdom. Don’t forget that Jews are a tiny proportion of the world’s population, and besides Romans 11 may indicate a huge ingathering of Jews at the end. If so, what a testimony to grace – those gathered in who resisted the grace of God so long, yet how typical that grace so works.
