The practice of animal sacrifice is found in many of the religions of the world. It has surely found its way into so many of man’s rites and ceremonies through what God originally showed to mankind following the fall.
Although there are man-made religions which have adopted the principle of animal sacrifice, they have not understood the meaning of it. They imagine that the blood of the animal can actually take away sin, but that is impossible. God only ever intended animal sacrifice to be an illustration of what he would one day do in Christ. All must look to him and to him alone, ‘Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved’ (Acts 4:12).
