Abraham and Sara and their immediate children and grandchildren did not live to see their descendants expand into a great nation. That did not take place until Jacob’s family began to multiply in Egypt, but even then they still had not received the land of Canaan promised to Abraham.
It is not enough for faith is only concerned with present things. – I believe God can help me through this situation. You have distant faith. Given it. If you exercise it, then it will help you in present things too. Faith actually sees things; it has eyes. It considers the promises, the doctrines, so that they sink in. Faith likes to dwell on, relish, consider what God promises. Faith embraces the promises of God and relies on them utterly. They were content to look ahead and know their best was in future things.
