What are we doing not taking holiness seriously? Whatever are we doing if we are ever irreverent or indifferent towards high and holy things? What are we doing not striving and seeking the help in the blessing of God to improve? We may be on the lower slopes while we are in life, but that is our assent. It is purchased for us by Christ, our Saviour. Hebrews is warning us that we may incur discipline, warning us that we may ruin our church, urging us by a little glimpse of our privileges. You have come to salvation and to be with the Lord forever. I must resolve to examine myself more diligently every day, to hold my tongue, to watch my heart. I am going to seek the help of God and the power of the Holy Spirit to regulate my life.
