In the last part of the chapter God responds to the mockery of his word. This is coming from either the common people, or the corrupt religious leaders, the priests and the false prophets.
We live in a day when God’s word is openly sneered at. Although the world is unable to deal with the uncomfortable phenomenon of fulfilled prophecy, it is eager to set aside the word of God as something irrelevant. Those who still take it seriously are laughable, contemptible. Politicians are for the most part ashamed to speak of personal faith, and certainly do not take the Bible seriously. Mankind has a thousand superior philosophies and frameworks of truth to that of Christian truth. So God takes away his truth from the nation and they are left without an answer to all the great questions of life.
