The Lord again sets before Satan the uprightness, the fear of God, and the separation from evil which Job exhibits. The words are repeated as if to say to Satan, ‘Nothing has changed.
Satan knows the record of our weaknesses and where we have fallen before – whether at home or at work, whether in comfort or in distress. Some can hold up under head-on attacks, but flattery slays them. He knows where we hold up least well and he studies our responses.
