Now God points to Leviathan’s fortitude. He has courage and determination to match this natural armour.
Do we have objectives that are ever changing? If one day resolve to serve the Lord and commit our lives to him, to mortify some besetting sin, and resist some temptation, then the next day we have forgotten and we are weak minded again. Leviathan keeps his objectives in mind. When we are faced with some great difficulty, do we go to pieces and let our guard slip? Do we quake in our hearts and cower before our problems? Our words should get through to many people. We should continue to hold ourselves so that men see that we will not abandon God’s standards when we are under pressure. Of course Job is expected to look for a spiritual equivalent of what he sees in Leviathan, for Leviathan is not a man but a beast. Leviathan makes a deep impression on those around him,and our testimony should make a deep impression on those who do not know the Lord.
