Eliphaz believes God does this here and now. He delivers from hurt and rescues the weak (verse 12); he exposes the cunning and craftiness of those who attempt to take advantage of the darkness (verse 13), and rewards them in kind (verse 14); he takes persecution away (verse 15); and so those who are poor and needy find their relief in his deliverances, and the wicked are given an answer which they cannot resist, right now (verse 16).
