Christ was in the world, the realm of human beings. The thrust of the reasoning is the unreasonableness of human beings. Belief in God is instinctive. This is the tragedy of man. We start with God, we come through Creation, and we come to verse ten – ‘He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.’
