He ‘went away again beyond Jordan’, east of Jordan in the region ‘where John at first baptized; and there he abode.’ This is the beginning of the Berean ministry, east of the Jordan, which will continue until Mary and Martha send to him, and he comes to Bethany to raise Lazarus from the dead, and then the triumphant entry into Jerusalem about four months after the events of this chapter.
