And so here comes yet another intimation. Remember this is said in the context of verse four, the earlier message. Your brother is not going to die. This illness is for bringing glory to the Son of God, to authenticate him. She has heard that. ‘Thy brother shall rise again.’ In context of verse four it should mean to Martha, now he is going to rise again now. But she does not dare hope that. She cannot quite take in even this intimation. She says in verse 24, may I paraphrase: You mean, don’t you, Lord, he will rise again at the resurrection. Is that what you mean? She has, I think, a quizzical expression on her face. Isn’t that what you are speaking about?
