John 13:19
Comments
Just before the inaugural Lord’s Supper, Judas is still with them. He has to leave before the Lord’s Supper proper begins, and the Lord utters the words given here in chapter 13. John does not actually mention the Lord’s Supper, because Matthew, Mark and Luke have all recorded it, but he tells us what the other Gospels have not told us – a great deal of the information that Christ gave just to his disciples. This is possibly the chief distinguishing feature of John’s Gospel, these vital chapters. Later they would say to each other, ‘He knew it all along. He expected it, they would say to each other.’
