Peter will deny him and Christ tells him this. These verses are just an insight into the limitations of the disciples at this point. How is Christ going to build up their standing, their understanding and their faith in a matter of what, fifteen minutes, less, before they leave and then the events of Gethsemane and the arrest and so on? How is he is going to correct them, instruct them and help them? And here briefly is the Lord’s fourfold remedy for the transforming of their attitudes and the building up of their faith, and it is unfolded to us in the verses of the first part of chapter 14.
