It is the same with us. We have to hold on to those four things. First of all, faith must always be exercised. Secondly we must never lose sight of the heavenly objective. Thirdly we must never lose sight that the work of Christ is crucial and central to everything. His suffering and death on Calvary. Every Gospel sermon must have Calvary in it and so on. This is key and central to us. Regularly we gather for the Lord’s Supper; it is the sole ground on which we stand; it is the heart of everything. And fourthly his status – we never forget our Lord, our Saviour, is God eternally all-knowing and powerful, equal with the Father. We never forget his status. Then we can carry out the great commission.
