John 15:24
Comments
It is the same point as in verses 22-23 but amplified. They rejected the Messiah in spite of his authenticating miracles. What caused them to hate him? Did he have rank or status, possessions or wealth in this world to be jealous of? Was he cruel, hostile, or an extortioner? No, he was consistently full of compassion and kindness. Was he a foreigner? Sometimes people are hated for this. No, he was an Israelite. Was he a tax gatherer who took advantage of the people? No, he never took anything from the people, but taught perfect truth. However he did not meet their expectations. He offered new life, not wealth, pleasure or pride. and yet they hated him, and in hating him they hated the Father also, for he is the perfect image of the Father.
