I too am a king, the language seems to say. They are mine as well as thine.
Now it is too easy for us to become selfish. And people write hymns some of which, I hope we do not have them in our book, which are intensely selfish. They are ‘me, me, me’ hymns – my happiness, my health and my prosperity. There is a whole movement, and it is vast, of evangelical churches which is all about my health. But the protection of the soul is something for which Christ prays in order that we may glorify him. Do not lose sight of that; we have to read everything in the verse – ‘I am glorified in them.’
