Mary has not crossed paths on her return with Peter and John; she has not crossed paths with the other women because the other women by delaying at the sepulchre had the great privilege of seeing the angels. And then on the way back, so excited to tell the disciples they saw the Lord, but that was after Mary had seen him. She had not crossed paths with anyone and she returned to the sepulchre, and she was weeping, sobbing, so very sad. The Lord had been crucified, and where had he gone? Who had taken him?‘As she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre, and seeth’ what the other women had seen moments previously. – two angels in white. The other Gospels say, radiant, shining, glistering, the one at the head, and the other at the feet where the body of Jesus had laid.They ask her, ‘Woman, why weepest thou?’, because she should have remembered what he had said. ‘She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord.’ Christ is still her Lord. She does not understand what has happened. He has died. His mission has come to an end, but he is still my Lord. ‘And I know not where they have laid him.’
