The disciples are in Galilee, they have obeyed the Lord. He gave instruction to the women and then to the disciples, after his resurrection that they must proceed into Galilee to a certain place that he had told them of and there he would appear to them.
Where should Christians be? Glued to the television? Perpetual entertainment? Watching rubbish soaps, infusing into their minds worldly ways of thinking and acting? Where should Christians be? Certainly not in the pub at the bar. Somewhere where they can meet with Christ, withdrawn from worldliness and pure materialism and entertainment and pleasure. Of course, there’s scope for recreation and pleasure and so on, but always where we can meet with Christ and reflect on him, and be used of him. If there is any activity in which we are engaged where we would have to say, ‘Christ could not meet with me here’, we are in the wrong place.
