We must be very precise with our interpretation of the Lord’s words. We mustn’t rush upon a text. Here is this verse which says, Listen carefully to Scripture. In our age many come to very strange conclusions about the meaning of God’s word. Those who interpreted Christ in this way read too much into his words. He spoke hypothetically, to show Peter that even if this was true, it should be of no consequence to Peter, for God has an individual path for each one. When our lives end is up to the Lord and him alone. But this wrong interpretation circulated among the brethren – true believers with a wrong understanding.
