Part of the will of the Godhead is that we should never be lost, and the duty of ensuring this belongs particularly to Christ. We belong to the Saviour, the perfect guardian. Every Christian has a life that will never end. [The Lord Jesus looks forward far into the future to that last day when he will raise us from the dead. Between now and then lie all the inventing troubles and trials of life, but none of these are able to change the final outcome. There is a perfect security for the believer so that nothing can come between the giving of the Father and the raising up of the Son. While we are in this world, he ever lives to make intercession for us and he is never absent from this task. Our life is hid with Christ in God, and nothing can take him away from us. At death we go to be with the Lord and we are delivered out of the realm of temptation and can no longer be troubled by Satan. Finally we are raised up at the last day, and not one will be missing from the number given to the Son. It is the Father’s will that he should lose not, and Christ is perfectly equipped to carry out the work he was sent to do.
